Pathoplexus: towards fair and transparent sequence sharing
Elena Dalla Vecchia
Abstract
On Aug 27, Pathoplexus, a new genomic database for viruses of public health importance, was launched. Its creation—supported by members from ten countries in five continents and developed in consultation with PHA4GE—was community-driven and guided by values of transparency, openness, and fair attribution. Its overarching goal is to promote viral genomic data sharing to foster “scientific research, public health improvement, and the common good”.
