Liquid metal assisted sonocatalytic degradation of organic azo dyes to solid carbon particles

Abstract

Room temperature liquid metals based on gallium can be used as a sonochemical catalyst to degrade organic azo dyes into harmless carbon particles with different sizes. The liquid metal is recoverable after each cycle and therefore reuseable.
