Abstract

This paper deals with single and double acceptance sampling plan (SASP and DASP) for the transmuted Rayleigh distribution when the lifetime experiment is truncated at a prefixed time. For the proposed sampling plans, we consider a zero failure scheme for SASP and zero and one failure schemes for DASP, respectively. The minimum sample sizes of the first and second samples which require to ensure the specified mean and median life time of product are obtained at a prefixed consumer confidence level. The operating characteristic values of the proposed sampling plans and producer’s risk are provided. Finally, one real life data set has been analyzed to demonstrate how the proposed methods based on mean life time and median life time of product may work in practice.
