Mathematical Modelling & Simulation of Synchronous Buck Converter and Analysis of Its Simulation Results

Abstract
This paper presents development of mathematical model for synchronous buck converter and conventional buck converter. Mathematical modelling based MATLAB/SIMULINK model is developed and various simulations are carried out. The effect of parasitic i.e., DC Resistance (DCR) of inductor and Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR) of capacitor in case of practical synchronous buck converters is observed and analyzed. The performance of practical and ideal synchronous buck converter is also compared in terms of the output voltage and capacitor voltage.
