Abstract

This critical review examines past and current studies to enhance conductivity properties of aluminum (Al) alloys. Fundamental principles governing metallic alloys’ electrical and thermal conductivity are presented, and with this foundation we establish the intertwined factors that dictate conductivity in metals. Subsequent discussion focuses on the ongoing research of aluminum and its alloys regarding conductivity properties. The emphasis lies in both traditional and emerging methods to maximize conductivity properties without degradation of mechanical properties. Through synthesizing theoretical foundations and recent experimental findings, this paper provides a coherent discussion on the existing gaps in knowledge and the pathways to optimize both conductivity and mechanical properties of aluminum alloys .
