Abstract

Palmprint recognition system is extensively deployed in a variety of applications, ranging from forensic to mobile phones. This paper proposed a non-invertible palmprint template that stores the relative geometric information of the minutiae points. The information about the minutiae orientation and their location are not available in the template, which makes impossible to estimate the orientation of the palmprint from the template. The proposed template is robust to rotation and scaling and immune to reconstruction algorithm. Finally, Delaunay triangulation based internal angle matching which is computationally efficient is used for template matching. The proposed method is tested on standard PolyU, IIT-Delhi and Multi-spectral palm-print databases and yields better results in terms of Correct Recognition Rate (CRR) and Equal Error Rate (EER) of 95.4% and 0.37% respectively.
