Abstract
Biomaterials, a novel approach to drug delivery, increases drug stability and solubility, thereby enhancing the efficiency of drug delivery. Available drug delivery systems face several challenges in tumor treatment. In particular, the special tumor microenvironment (TME) limits the application of traditional drug delivery technologies. In recent years, increased attention has been paid to tumor suppression or elimination by altering TME. This review aimed to discuss the latest progress on the development of biological materials, their use in tumor immunomodulation, and challenges hindering their clinical application.
