Abstract

This paper investigates the propagation behaviour of shear wave in a piezo-electro-magnetic material (PEMM) layer overlying a functionally graded piezo-electro-magnetic material (FGPEMM) substrate with a point source existing at their interface. Dispersion equation for shear wave is deduced by using Green’s function method. The effect of various material parameters and functional gradient parameters of PEMM layer and FGPEMM substrate on the phase velocity of shear wave are examined and delineated graphically. The derived dispersion equation is found to be fairly-matched with the classical Love wave equation. The mass loading sensitivity has also studied at free surface of the considered model.
