Abstract

The amount of waste has increased drastically over the recent years in the current fast-developing world. These wastes effect the surrounding environment, the health of human communities, as well as create an economic crisis. Therefore, the agro-industrial residues pressing demand for researchers to efficiently utilize these agro-materials through conversion into value-added products. Remarkably, these wastes contain a wide variety of biomaterials that can be utilized and converted into meaningful end products in other fields to yield bioenergy, biofuel, biogas, enzymes, composting, and vitamins among other essential commodities. Recently, energy consumption and economic pressure on industries need sustainability in the utilization of all possible resources and to get optimum yield from useful bioproducts. Agro-industrial waste utilization does not put future generations at risk due to minimum or no side effects. The great need to look into its effective utilization, how it can be converted, and most importantly, how it can be turned into meaningful products. This chapter focused on mostly available agro-industrial waste material and their conversion into high value products.
