Enhanced Jahn–Teller distortion boosts molybdenum trioxide's superior lithium ion storage capability

Abstract
A lattice distortion triggered method via Jahn–Teller effect was developed to introduce amorphous phase into α-MoO 3 . The optimized product of HI-MoO 3 -36 h exhibited better lithium ion storage capability compared to crystalline α-MoO 3 .
