Abstract
This paper proposes a new multilevel inverter for single-phase transformerless systems. The main feature of the proposed topology is to synthesize seven output voltage levels with high voltage gain. In this topology the ground connection is shared between the dc input and ac output which results in constant common-mode voltage, therefore theoretically eliminating the leakage current. Furthermore, the paper presents a description of the circuit and operating principles. Simulation results are presented to verify the feasibility of the proposed inverter.
