Abstract

The rapid production of vehicles and their usage in recent years has led to a severe issue of finding vacant parking spaces, and this issue occurs particularly in modern cities. This significant problem worsens, especially during peak hours and on weekends. Therefore, developing a car parking management system will assist drivers in finding a suitable parking place for their vehicles. This project aims to develop a model of an Internet of Things-based Car Parking Management System. By its rapid development and growth, the Internet of Things (IoT) has improved people’s lives and various aspects of society. By installing a sensor node on each parking space, the car parking management system can monitor the state of each slot using IoT. Thus, the sensor detects the parking slot’s status and sends it to the central node server controller. The NodeMCU collects data from all sensor nodes and uploads it to the server, where the user would check the parking status from anywhere using the IoTGecko Platform. Hence, the system makes it simple for users to look for available parking places. As a result, the system not only tackles the city’s parking problem but also provides users with a reliable IoT-based parking management system.
