Abstract

The present study describes a synergistic effect between a conventional antifungal drug, caspofungin, and a synthetic peptide derived from human lactoferrin, hLF1-11, against Candida species. These yeasts are able to cause severe systemic fungal infections in immunocompromised hosts.
