Abstract
The first direct synthesis of PhMe 2 SiZnI and Me 3 SiZnI reagents from silyl iodides is described. They can be obtained as solids and stored at 4 °C for extended periods. The versatility of solid Me 3 SiZnI is demonstrated in a variety of reactions.
