Abstract
The outstanding electrical properties with unique band structure, graphene displays a distinctively high mobility through electron delocalization and weak electron–phonon interactions. To further upgrade its applications in diverse fields (e.g., optical, catalytic, and sensing), graphene has been functionalized with diverse indicator materials. A plethora of methodologies are available for the functionalization of graphene with different functional materials. This review focuses on a list of strategies employed for the functionalization of graphene in association with its applications. Finally, this review offers a new path for the construction of the strategies required for the production of advanced functionalized graphene materials.
