Abstract

Abstract Herein, we report a facile synthesis of a conjugated macrocyclic nanoring, cyclo[9]paraphenylene‐2,11‐hexabenzocoronenylene ( [9]CPPH 2,11 ) with graphenic hexabenzocoronene sidewall by Suzuki–Miyaura cross‐coupling reaction. The structure of [9]CPPH 2,11 was confirmed by HR‐MS and NMR. The photophysical properties were studied using UV/Vis and photoluminescence spectroscopy. Possessing unique structural and physical properties, this conjugated macrocyclic nanoring with a graphenic hexabenzocoronene sidewall can expand the scope of bottom‐up synthesis of uniform carbon nanotube segments and potential applications in hole‐ and electron‐ transport devices.
