Abstract
The Permanent Preservation Areas have an extremely important function for the conservation of biodiversity, since it acts in the protection of water resources as well as the species existing in this ecosystem, their preservation is regulated by Law 12.651 of May 25, 2012 (new Forest Code) . In this context, the present study addresses the qualitative assessment of the permanent preservation areas of two springs and a water course on a rural property in the municipality of Thailand in the state of Par, with the purpose of analyzing whether the rotating grazing activity as a sustainable activity influences in the conservation of riparian forests of water bodies. The results obtained prove that part of the riparian forests underwent anthropic intervention, modifying the natural landscape of the area and the composition of the APP's primary forest, which directly influences the environmental quality of the springs.
