Abstract

Corrosion of metals and alloys is a pervasive problem that causes significant economic losses and compromises the structural integrity of various materials. To combat this issue, the search for eco-friendly and sustainable corrosion inhibitors has intensified. Natural polymers and their derivatives have emerged as promising candidates due to their inherent biodegradability, abundance, low toxicity, and diverse chemical functionalities. This book chapter provides a comprehensive overview of the current state-of-the-art research on the application of natural polymers and their derivatives as corrosion inhibitors.
