Resonance-assisted intramolecular triel bonds

Abstract
An intramolecular triel bond with resonance is designed. The resonance can enhance the interaction energy by about 25%. Adding electron-withdrawing NO 2 substituents to the ring weakens the triel bond, whereas an electron-donating methyl group has a strengthening effect.
