Abstract

Treating infections caused by carbapenem-resistant A. baumannii (CR Ab ) has become a global challenge given that CR Ab strains are also often resistant to a wide range of antibiotics. Analysis of whole-genome sequence data is now a standard approach for studying the genomic context of antibiotic resistance genes; however, genome sequence data from South American countries are scarce.
