Abstract

Abstract Nickel(II) complexes of the composition [NiLn][B10H10] (L = DMF, H2O, n = 6; L = N2H4, n = 3) have been synthesized and studied. The thermal reduction of the complexes has been studied in the temperature range 20–800°C in air and in an inert atmosphere. Precursor complexes and their reduction products have been identified by elemental analysis, X-ray powder diffraction, and IR spectroscopy. The physicochemical study of the thermolysis product of complex [Ni(DMF)6][B10H10] shows that scarcely studied solid solutions of the composition Ni3C1 –xВx are formed.
