Abstract

The successful transformation of mercury-based nitrate from Hg 3 O 2 (NO 3 ) 2 ·H 2 O to (CH 5 N 3 S) 2 Hg(NO 3 ) 2 was achieved through the introduction of organic molecules. As a result, the experimental birefringence has been increased from 0.25 to 0.32 at 546 nm.
