Abstract

In this article, vibration analysis of composite sandwich panels with graphene plate–reinforced composite (GPLRC)-facing sheets and double-V auxetic core under aerohygrothermal loading was carried out. Based on the high-order shear deformation theory (HSDT), the governing equations of motion are solved using the generalized differential quadrature method (GDQM). According to the quasi-steady Krumhaar’s modified supersonic piston theory, the aerodynamic pressure is modeled. At first, validation of the present formulation is carried out by comparing the numerical results with those available in the open literature. The novelty of this study is the application of a new model of auxetic core to predict the aeroelastic characteristic of sandwich panel with GPLRC-facing sheets. Then, the effects of several parameters such as geometric parameters of double-V auxetic core, volume fraction, different boundary conditions, and yawed supersonic angle, on the frequencies and aeroelastic stability region of sandwich panel are analyzed. Finally, the significant findings of this research indicate that the ratio of core thickness, inclined angle and yawed supersonic airflow have excellent effects on the frequencies and aeroelastic stability responses. Based on the results of this article, designers can develop different parts of an aircraft.
