Abstract

An electrochemical iodination/spirocyclization reaction of 3-alkynyl indoles with n -Bu 4 NI as coupling partner and electrolyte is reported, which affords iodovinyl spiroindolenine-cyclopentanes in excellent yields and high E -stereoselectivities.
