Abstract

The relevance of the study arises from the need to find opportunities to improve project management efficiency in the space industry. Software is an integral part of complex space systems. Today, agile methodologies are widely used in the field of software development for industry, but the space industry has its own features, in particular, high security requirements for all system components. In this study, we conducted a review, aimed at analysis of the applicability of agile methods in the implementation of projects to create space technology. The results of the review showed that a number of agile practices, in particular, Scrum and extreme programming, can be successfully applied in the development of space systems and do not contradict the requirements for high fault tolerance of systems; in addition, it is effective to use of hybrid approaches combining agile and formal methodologies, as well as a combination of agile practices with the use of model-oriented design.
