Abstract

Herein, we present a novel organic photoredox decarboxylation system that employs a charge-transfer complex formed between pyridine derivatives and Selectfluor as the catalytic species. Under basic conditions, this system facilitates the decarboxylative fluorination of alkyl carboxylic acids upon visible light irradiation. The methodology applies to primary, secondary, and tertiary carboxylic acids, demonstrating good substrate scope.
