Abstract

The quest to understand what causes chronic, acute, infectious, and rare diseases has been a central 12 focus of human health studies since the beginning of scientific discovery [1]. Our evolving 13 understanding of their complex nature has led us to realize the importance of effective diagnosis and 14 treatment of patients with these conditions [2]. Over the last few decades, genomics has been leading 15 us towards an audacious future; it has been changing our views about conducting biomedical 16 research, studying diseases, and understanding diversity in our society across the human species We are grateful to the Frontiers, Frontiers in Genetics, and editorial staff for their endless support in 73 the preparation, study collection, peer-review processes, editing, press, and publication process 74 involved in this research topic. We thank the honorable reviewers for their time and constructive 75 suggestions to the authors for the possible quality and scientific improvements to their studies. 76
