Abstract
The content of this review includes the following parts: the basic theoretical concepts and background knowledge of blockchain and its current applications; The current research progress and application scenarios of electronic medical record (EHR) in real life, and current applications and research of blockchain technology in the field of medical and health care, along with the research progress of blockchain technology in the field of electronic medical records and its possible application and prospect in the future development and research of EHR systems. In recent years, more and more people have noticed that blockchain technology may provide a boost for the informatization of medical and health system. As a revolutionary, de-centralization information technology, blockchain has attracted the interests from many researchers, and it shows great potential in the field of medical and health care, specifically in the development and application for EHR (electronic health record) systems.
