Structural and Phase Transformations in Alloys under the Severe Plastic Deformation

Abstract

Despite the large number of works devoted to structuralphase transformations in alloys, there is still no holistic understanding of the pattern of phase transformations under the intense plastic deformation.It is probably because the plastic deformation is a complex multilevel process, in which various microscopic mechanisms operate, depending on the temperature and intensity of processing.Although the mecha nisms of phase transformations have been actively discussed in recent decades, the task of classifying such transformations and identifying the main mechanisms of their implementation depending on external conditions remains urgent.
