Abstract
Raman spectroscopy , a powerful analytical technique, has found extensive application in cosmetics and dermatology due to its non-invasive, molecular-focused, and high-resolution capabilities. This article explores the fundamental principles and types of Raman spectroscopy , its various applications, and its evolution. In dermatology , Raman spectroscopy plays a vital role in diagnosing microbial skin diseases, monitoring skin health conditions, and understanding age-related skin changes, and skin cancer detection. Raman spectroscopy has been widely used in the evaluation of cosmetic products like facial creams, kajal, lipstick, etc. This review provides a comprehensive overview of Raman spectroscopy in dermatology and cosmetics while addressing current limitations and future possibilities and offering valuable insights into its diverse applications.
