Abstract
Consideration should be given to decreasing the number of points assigned to punctate echogenic foci in mixed solid and cystic thyroid nodules, given the substantial decrease in the number of benign nodules requiring biopsy and the recommendation of follow-up for any carcinoma 1 cm or larger that did not undergo biopsy.
