Abstract

Four different subgrade treatment plans are used in the reinforcement treatment tests of soft rock subgrade. When using unscreened gravel and geocell to treat the soft rock subgrade, the average penetration of the reinforcement layer of the subgrade is decreased by 25%, the converted CBR is increased by 46%, and the dynamic deformation modulus is increased by 27%. The soil pressure is attenuated by 30.1%∼37.2% when using unscreened gravel and geocell to treat the soft rock subgrade. Under the vehicle loads, strain is generated inside the geocell, and this strain has a linear relationship with the vehicle load. The numerical simulation results show that the surface deflection of the subgrade treated using unscreened gravel and geocell is reduced by 26.4%∼29.2%. The application of geocell in soft rock subgrade enhances the overall stiffness of the subgrade and effectively reduces the surface deflection of the subgrade under the vehicle load.
