Abstract
The fabrication of the inorganic metal oxide nanoparticles by using extract of the different part of the plant was gaining an overwhelming response from the last few years. Magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles exhibiting verity of biomedical applications hence in the current proposed work we use an unexplored Euphorbia herita leaf extract in the green synthesis of magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (Fe3O4 NPs). The tailored Fe3O4 NPs was structurally characterized by using advanced analytical tools like UV–visible spectroscopy, Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis, Fourier transform infra-red (FT-IR) analysis and X-ray diffraction study. The fabricated nanoparticles were naturally stabilized, having cavity like structure with average particle size in the range of 25–80 nm. The phytochemicals especially polyphenols and alcoholic compound play crucial role in the fabrication of magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles. The antimicrobial activity of the fabricated iron oxide nano particles was evaluated against selected bacterial and fungal pathogen and the result of antimicrobial study was very promising.
