Nanomaterials in soil science for agricultural productivity and environmental sustainability

Abstract

Nanomaterials (NMs) are a new frontier in soil research with far-reaching implications for agriculture and environmental management. The current state of NMs in soil science investigates how nanoscale materials and processes might improve soil health, and agricultural production, and reduce environmental impact. The investigation looks at the interactions between nanoparticles and soil components to see how nanomaterials impact soil properties and plant development. The findings suggest that nanoparticles may enhance nutrient delivery, soil structure, and microbial activity, opening the path more sustainable agriculture methods. Furthermore, the significance of NMs to minimize soil contamination and aid in precision farming is an important feature, demonstrating their ability to solve major soil and crop management issues. Most significantly, this study emphasizes the need of multidisciplinary efforts to improve the usage of NMs, assuring their efficiency while maximizing their potential. These fundamental findings position nanotechnology as a critical tool for promoting sustainable agriculture and protecting the environment. Building on these advances, future breakthroughs may establish NMs as an essential component of current soil science and agricultural innovation.
