Abstract
. Follow-up experiments in mice and cells demonstrated that inhibiting sphingolipid metabolism impaired pancreatic β cell function. These data suggest early postpartum alterations in sphingolipid biosynthesis contribute to β cell dysfunction and T2D risk.
