Abstract
Maintenance of equipments and machines is an essential part of the industrial function, and an effective maintenance strategy can significantly contribute by adding value to the production activities. This paper presents a selective maintenance decision modeling approach for a multi-component system. A selective maintenance decision model for a manufacturing equipment to meet the required availability and completed in the available time window is presented. The maintenance decision on maintenance actions namely, repair, replace or do-nothing for the components, is considered. The objective function is to minimize the total cost of maintenance decision. The solution procedure for the model is the simulated annealing algorithm. Finally, a numerical example is presented to show the applicability of the model.
