Facets control charge separation during photoelectrochemical water oxidation with strontium titanate (SrTiO<sub>3</sub>) single crystals

Abstract
The photoelectrochemical water oxidation activity of SrTiO 3 crystals is determined by the variable work functions of different facets. This produces facet dependent semiconductor–liquid junctions that can drive charge separation in photocatalysts.
