Mathematical Maintenance Theory: A Historical Perspective

This article presents a review of the historical development of mathematical maintenance theory, with a specific emphasis on exploring various inspection–maintenance and replacement policies that directly contribute to enhancing system reliability. A brief concluding remark is also presented.
