Abstract

Abstract We study relativistic stars in the scale-dependent scenario, which is one of the approaches to quantum gravity, and where Newton’s constant is promoted to a scale-dependent quantity. First, the generalized structure equations are derived here for the first time. Then they are integrated numerically assuming a linear equation-of-state in the simplest MIT bag model for quark matter. We compute the radius, the mass and the compactness of strange quarks stars, and we show that the energy conditions are fulfilled.
