A robust ionic liquid magnesium electrolyte enabling Mg/S batteries

Abstract
An ionic liquid Mg electrolyte (<bold>MMAC-IL</bold>) is conveniently prepared by mixing MgCl<sub>2</sub>, AlCl<sub>3</sub>, Mg, and Pyr14TFSI. The <bold>MMAC-IL</bold> electrolyte with its great ionic strength can significantly suppress the shuttle effect of magnesium polysulfides and enabled a stable Mg–S battery.
