Abstract
The authors demonstrate storage of light in an optical fiber over 50 ms. The result is equivalent to 8.7X10${}^{\ensuremath{-}5}$ dB/$\ensuremath{\mu}$s or 2.9X10${}^{\ensuremath{-}4}$ dB/km of propagation loss in the fiber.
