Properties as Truthmakers

Abstract

This chapter discusses the relationship between truthmaking and properties, focusing on ways that truthmaking has been used to argue for properties and what kind of properties it's been used to argue for. Predicative sentences need truthmakers, many people think, and properties are required to either be those truthmakers or to be constituents of states of affairs that are the truthmakers. In either case, properties must exist if predicative sentences are to have truthmakers.
