A Comparison between Hybrid Excitation and Interior Permanent Magnet Motors

Abstract
This paper deals with the analysis and the comparison among some hybrid excited permanent magnet (HEPM) machines and interior permanent magnet (IPM) machines for electric vehicle (EV) applications. Torque, efficiency, flux weakening capability, losses are computed and compared in detail by 2D finite-element analysis method.
