Benchmarking Computational Shell Models
Petr Krysl, Jiun‐Shyan Chen
Abstract
Abstract The practice of verification of shell finite element formulations is discussed from a variety of viewpoints: The provenance of benchmark target values, the suitability of benchmark problems for different classes of shell models, the importance of reporting limit values, and the completeness of the benchmark sets are critically examined. A set of benchmark problems that are most suitable across common shell finite element models is identified.
