Abstract

In this article, a soft-switched nonisolated high step-up multiport converter is proposed, which provides separate power flow paths between the input sources and the output. The energy storage device can be charged from an energy generation source and the output dc link, which causes this converter to be a good candidate for utilization in hybrid energy applications. In this converter, some components are shared in different operating modes; thus, this converter has a high integration. Four different soft-switching techniques are employed to provide soft-switching condition for all switches without affecting the converter functionality in any operating mode. In this article, the converter analysis is presented and design considerations are discussed. Finally, to validate the theoretical analysis, a converter prototype to supply a 200 W-400 V load is implemented.
