Abstract

The first SHG-active alkali metal–rare earth metal sulfate NaY(SO<sub>4</sub>)<sub>2</sub>·H<sub>2</sub>O, which manifests a short ultraviolet cutoff edge below 200 nm and exhibits a phase-matching SHG response of 0.6 × KDP, has been obtained using a mild hydrothermal method.
