Abstract

In this study, Gxsview (Geometry and CROSS Section VIEWer), which is a stand-alone multi-platform integrated visualization tool for 3D geometry, 2D geometry, cross section, and input file, was developed. Its geometry engine covers almost all geometric features used in the major Monte Carlo radiation transport code, PHITS and MCNP, supporting nested universe, fill, lattice, like-but, and complement functions. The viewer is equipped with modern graphical user interface and an ability to pan, zoom, and rotate the geometry model in real time by using a mouse. The proposed tool is capable of exporting in 2D (png, jpg and xpm) or 3D (stl, vtk, vtp, and ply) formats, thereby realizing the collaboration with other software or 3D printers.
